Contouring Specialized Roles and Responsibilities of Nurses in Pediatric Hematology - Oncology

In the multidisciplinary and complex ambulatory care of patients with haemophilia and other rare blood coagulation disorders, haemostaseology assistants play a central role with a broad range of tasks. Standards are to be developed for the future qualification of specialists in order to ultimately improve patient care in this field. In perspective, a foundation will also be laid for recognized further training for nursing staff in this field - based on the international specialization option for nursing known as "Hemophilia Nurse". The project leaders of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Oncology and Hematology of the CharitéUniversitätsmedizin Berlin, will be scientifically and methodologically advised by nursing scientists of the Institute for Health and Nursing Science in the project "Development of standardized clinical pathways for the care of patients and their families with hemophilia and other rare coagulation disorders by specialized nurses in the outpatient sector".
