In September, I spent two weeks in Galway, Ireland, to attend an English language course at the Galway Cultural Institute. Before arriving, I had to take an online test to estimate my course level. On the first day, the online result was confirmed by an oral interview with one of the teachers. And then the show began… I had classes every morning and twice a week in the afternoon. So I had some time to practise my English in real life too. The teachers were very friendly and supportive, and I really liked the idea of focusing on conversation and interaction and leaving the grammar aside. Our group was very international, and I learned a lot about different cultures besides the Irish one. On my last day in Galway, we celebrated a Mexican culture day with typical music, dances, and food. I spent the weekends visiting the Aran Islands and other beautiful places nearby, going to the cinema and traditional pubs. I really enjoyed my time in Ireland and would recommend it to anyone interested in meeting people from all over the world, improving their English skills, and gaining cultural insights to join the Galway Cultural Institute.
